#2 THE SKIING IS INCREDIBLE. IT HAS BEEN ARGUED THE CANYONS HAS THE BEST SNOW IN THE WORLD. NOT ONLY ARE THE HIGHEST PEAKS JUST BELOW 10,000 FEET BUT PARK CITY IS THE LARGEST SKI RESORT IN NORTH AMERICA. THE SNOW AND SNOW MAKING IS UNBELIEVABLE.
#3 FLATLANDERS LIKE ME CAN BREATHE! I AM AN ASTHMATIC AND THE MOST ENJOYABLE THING FOR ME IS COMING FROM THE COAST, I CAN BREATHE MY FIRST COUPLE DAYS SKIING IN PARK CITY! UNLIKE SKIING IN ASPEN AND VAIL AND OTHER AREAS IN THE MILE HIGH STATE, THERE IS NO NEED FOR THOSE OXYGEN BOTTLES AND NO ALTITUDE SICKNESS. IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE, TO ME ANYWAYS.
#3 IS COST. PARK CITY AND THE CANYONS ARE OWNED BY VAIL MTN RESORTS, PART OF THE EPIC PASS. DEER VALLEY IS OWNED BY ALTERRA, PART OF THE IKON PASS. NEXT SEASON SUGARBUSH WILL BE PART OF THE IKON PASS AND STOWE IS ALREADY PART OF THE EPIC PASS.
#4 PARK CITY IS A 4-SEASON RESORT AND THERE IS TONS TO DO, EVEN IF YOU DO NOT SKI OR MOUNTAIN BIKE! OBVIOUSLY THE SKIING, SNOWBOARDING, X-COUNTRY, MOUNTAIN BIKING IS INCREDIBLE. THE OLYMPIC TRAINING SITE IS IN PARK CITY. MAIN STREET IN PARK CITY IS INCREDIBLE; GREAT RESTAURANTS, BARS, SHOPPING, ART GALLERIES. IT'S NANTUCKET ON STEROIDS. THERE ARE GREAT GOLF COURSES AND ENDLESS HIKING/BIKING TRAILS ITS IS 30 MINUTES FROM SALT LAKE CITY.FOR THOSE WHO WATCH TMZ EVERY NIGHT, THE SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL IS IN PARK CITY. FOR A WEEK PARK CITY IS JAMMED WITH THE HOLLYWOOD STARS, POP STARS AND ELITE PRO ATHLETES. THIS IS THE BEST WEEK TO SKI THERE, NO ONE IS ON THE SLOPES.
#5 BEAUTY. THE MOUNTAIN VIEWS ARE INCREDIBLE, JUST LIKE IN EVERY ROCKY MOUNTAIN STATE. THE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST PART; INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY AND OUTGOING AND EXCITED ABOUT LIVING MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES ON EARTH. THERE IS A REASON WHY UTAH SKIERS AND BOARDERS HAVE GONE UP 14.5% ANNUALLY SINCE 2012, AND WE HAVE EXPERIENCED IT FIRST HAND
We started to visit Sugarbush regularly in 2006 after a single weekend visit early in the ski season when we made the impulsive decision to find a last-minute seasonal rental. We were hoping to find a property as modern and luxurious as some of the properties we had stayed at in on our vacations (before we had kids) and at Western skiing resorts but realized quickly that luxury rental properties are hard to find in the Mad River Valley. After multiple mediocre seasonal rentals in the area, we decided to invest in our own property in 2013. Several years ago we began renting our property and had immediate success. This reinforced our belief that there were other families like ours wanting a more luxurious experience when they visited the Mad River Valley. Bringing together our love of investing, real estate, and interior design, several years ago we formally started a business in Vermont and have purchased 3 more properties in the area over the last several years, all of which had been on the market for a few years and were in need of renovation. We use a local contractor (3rd generation Vermonter) for all of our renovations and use all local providers to manage, maintain and service our properties, inside and out. We have been busy renovating and decorating these properties and are excited to share them with you. COVID has had a major impact on our 'renovations'. We have added more outdoor furniture and fire pits for bigger outdoor spaces.We have set up some rooms differently, creating 'work spaces' for remote learning and working. We have purchased mesh networks to help improve the internet speed. I have yet to met anyone with a fiber optic internet connection in Warren, but am told by the local (and only) internet provider to expect fiber at 2 of our properties by the end of 2021. The cellular service is very good in Warren and we often use our smart phone hot spots to do Zoom meetings. All of our TVs are smart TVs that connect to the internet. There's much to see and do in the Mad River Valley year-round! From skiing and snow-shoeing, to hiking, road biking (has become huge up there the last few years), mountain biking, swimming and tubing, the Mad River Valley is perfect for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in winter, spring, summer, and fall. It is a great place to escape to from our fast-paced lives to relax and recharge no matter what time of year. And, it's easy to get to from MA, NY, NJ, CT, and Canada. There's even an international airport just 50 minutes away in Burlington, VT. Mehueron's (only state liquor store within 15 miles), East Warren Community Market is awesome, The Warren Store. Shaws is much improved with its local foods and natural foods. For convenience, new owners of Paradise Deli/Market on the Sugarbush Access Road.
Mountainside, Alpine Options, Splinters (for riders)
Sugarbush Ski Mountain, Blueberry Lake Cross-Country, Ole's x-country (very close to our Scenic Solitude property), Mad River Glen (no snowboarders so we cannot go there), The Skatium is a great outdoor rink with a well maintained sheet of ice, skate rentals.
Sugarbush Golf Course, Blueberry Lake is incredible, The Waitsfield Farmers' Market, Warren Falls, Sunset Ledge Hike, Sunset Rock at the top of Lincoln Gap Road, Tarzan swing/swimming at the Doggie Park off rte 100 near the bottom of Sugarbush Access Road. Bartlett Falls is amazing for swimming and cliff jumping. There is a great 2-3 hour tubing trip (depending on how much water is in the Mad River) starting from the Waitsfield Covered Bridge
